What are Reminders?

Reminders are automated prompts that notify you when something important is coming up.

They help you avoid missed deadlines by highlighting actions like renewing documents or reviewing policies at the right time.

You can view all reminders in the Reminders section, which you can access from your Dashboard.

How Reminders are created

Reminders are automatically generated from date-based information stored in your LyfeHubs, including:

  • Expiry dates (for example, passports or driving licences)

  • Renewal dates (such as insurance policies)

  • Review dates added to certain entries

When you save an item with one of these dates, Lyfeguard creates a reminder in the background.

When you'll be reminded

Lyfeguard sets default reminder timings based on the type of document, giving you enough time to act before the deadline.

Common examples include:

  • Passport: 9 months before expiry

  • Insurance Policies: 30 days before renewal

Reminders best practices

To get the most value from Reminders:

  • Add expiry, renewal or review dates whenever you upload information

  • Keep your LyfeHub entries up to date so reminders stay accurate

  • Review upcoming reminders regularly from the Dashboard

  • Edit reminder dates if you need more or less notice

If you do not need a reminder for a specific item, you can also turn it off completely.
