What are Insights?

The Insights section gives you a clear overview of your finances by bringing together information from your connected accounts. It shows how you’re spending, what you own, what you owe and how your finances change over time.

Insights give you a broader view, from day-to-day spending to longer-term planning such as investments and retirement.

What you'll see in Insights

Insights are organised into different views, each covering a specific area of your finances.

Short term

Short term insights highlight recent activity and spending patterns, including:

  • Your combined balance, giving an overview of your connected accounts

  • Spending analysis, breaking down where your money goes by category

  • Month-on-month comparison to track changes in spending

  • Monthly spending breakdown and income analysis, showing average monthly spend and income, with amounts displayed across the year

Transactions

The Transactions view lets you explore activity across your accounts in more detail. You can:

  • View transactions by category

  • View transactions by date

Long term

Long term insights give you a clearer picture of your overall financial position and future planning, including:

  • Net worth, showing how your finances change over time

  • A breakdown of assets and liabilities

  • Investment growth over time

  • Pension savings, showing your current totals and supporting retirement planning

  • Investments by type, helping you understand how your portfolio is structured

  • Recurring payments, showing your regular outgoing commitments

Insights best practices

To get the most accurate and useful information from Insights:

  • Keep your connected accounts up to date by reauthorising them when prompted

  • Review trends and comparisons to spot patterns and plan ahead

Insights are most helpful when used regularly, helping you stay informed and build a clearer understanding of your financial position over time.
